My Romance and Rose Reading list

I wandered into Tattered Cover Book Store the other day, (one of the few spots I’ll purposely go to on Colfax Avenue), intent on a cup of coffee and a quiet nook to plant myself for a spell. While there, I picked up an event calendar and happened across their one and only Romance Signing event for the month and, lo and behold, one of my favorites, Lisa Kleypas was in the lineup!

Well, of course I decided I couldn’t miss that, and needed another reason to stock up my reading list, so I went about procuring a ticket and stockpiling some reading. I wanted to read books by as many of the attending authors as possible beforehand, and here are the works I was able to snag:

Not too long ago, I read Hello Stranger and loved it (review TBA), so of course I jumped at a chance to read this continuation of the Ravenel family story.

A man trying to overcome his past, a widow in need of a strong father figure for her boys, and a mutual past they may not be able to overcome.

I think this is the first quasi sports romance I’ve ever read, but I can say I truly enjoyed it.

Rich but good-hearted college hockey jock falls for his nerdy friend when she decides to change her image and drags him along for the ride.

A British nobleman rescues an American girl from the Sioux, and by the time fate throws them together again two years later, we’ve got secrets galore to overcome as she contemplates kidnapping his two nephews.

She’s a famous sports athlete, he’s the guy she met in a bar. That would have been the end of the story, if he wasn’t also a college professor and she just walked into his class.

I was pleasantly surprised by this super steamy read.

She’s just survived a massive car accident, he’s the ex-con turned mountain man who rescues her. Waiting out a blizzard together, they’ve got to decide if they can look past each other’s broken history and find the acceptance neither thought they ever would.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

Secrets abound in this classic: both personal secrets and secret love. Add gossip to the mix and we’ve got a perfect recipe for disaster for our main characters to overcome!

I’ll be checking in to let you know how the event went, and adding review links to each of these as I get them done.

In the mean time, have you read any of these works? What did you think?
