It’s official, the final segment of the Colorado City Series is now available on Amazon.
It’s been an amazing journey, getting to know these characters and writing these stories. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself now and haven’t adjusted to thinking about my next project yet. I’d love to keep the world of the Augustines and Palmers available in the background, so I’m not going to say I’ll never add another book to the mix (in fact, I had some ideas on specialty novellas), but for the moment I’ve completed the story I set out to tell and it’s time to head out on a new adventure.
That said, it’s going to take me a little time to get the new books up and running, so if you haven’t enjoyed this series yet, now’s the time to get caught up.
Each book is meant to be a stand alone work in that you don’t need to read the other books to understand what’s going on, but reading them all gives a much deeper understanding of the characters, their relationships, and the backstories that lead to each setting and situation.
Book 2 saw the reunion of characters we met in the prequel, a struggle between love and hurt, and the revelation of a secret that threatened to tear our lovers apart permanently. Book 3 now follows up on the tale end of that story by showcasing the character we met at the end: William Stanford.
Below, you’ll find the details and my thoughts on why you should read this book.

Pueblo, Colorado, 1895
William Stanford is on his way home having just learned a family secret that’s turned his world upside down. Questioning everything and everyone he thought he knew, he doesn’t think things can get any worse. Then the train he’s on gets held up. In the ensuing commotion he’s drawn into making a promise to a dying outlaw that leads him straight to a beautiful young mother in dire straits.
When the leader of the train robbers comes after her, Will can’t bring himself to turn a blind eye. In over his head dealing with a criminal and a baby, he may have to swallow his pride and send for help.
The final portion of this family’s story is probably the best yet from a technical standpoint. The support and feedback I’ve gained from readers along the way has really helped me improve my craft and gain confidence. The story also brings back a little more action, which we stepped away from in book 2, so it offers that extra thrill factor. Also, you may have noticed the books lengthening slightly as they progress. I’m gearing up for longer works in 2019, so Will’s story also brings in a few more threads and a bit more detail, which I’m hoping you’ll appreciate.
If you loved the previous books, this one won’t disappoint. Take a look and let me know what you think, your comments always help me to improve!
